I've actually used PD off and on for years. Sold a PD content site a couple of years ago for $1000 and I've mixed it into many other sites along with my own content and PLR stuff over the years too.

I've been putting up PD Kindle books off and on. At the beginning of this month I put together a really nice compiled package of content into an ebook on a health topic and sold a limited number of copies to my VIP list.

One of my first new sites this year I've already fallen in love with is purely PD - wealth, profits, and self improvement. It's turning out really nice and has ~150 pages published so far. I'm starting to think it wasn't the best niche to choose, but it's still a subject (and site) I love so I figured I'd share it here as an example:

Yes i am still in the middle of putting together my site that i want to sell.

I have put together a free report to giveaway (just needs converting to pdf)
I have about 40+ posts ready to go.
I need to do graphics for the site and book.

Hopefully i will have this done soon. I need to wait till i have the funds to purchase a domain name and work out the ebook cover.

If you're afraid of the content being copyrighted, then use US books printed before 1923. There's no chance of the copyright being active on it now.

Once you get comfortable with your research, then you can branch out to some of the later years.

The number 1 thing for me is what Bishop81 said "Umm... How about 35 possible ways that we can start making money with public domain profits immediately? "

I realized after having several days at home to work online, then coming back to work after the first of the year, that I can't keep working in an office anymore. I need to make a living online and it really won't take that much in order for me to stay home - like $2,000 a month. I'm planning on flipping websites but would like ANY ideas to start bringing in money immediately. These posts have really given me some great ideas. I'm working on one really huge website right now (not PD), and as soon as I finish with it, then I'll be starting my PD career!!

I'm just now starting to dig into all this PD material. Then I'll start some market research to see which topic I'll pursue first...and maybe what sort of product I'll create.

That will determine what types of WP theme/plugins I set up and how I start marketing. I, too, am hoping to be on the 'coachee' list.

Looking forward to hearing other folks' progress!

Cindy, you can use OpenOffice to convert files into pdf files, otherwise you can search also Google for free pdf converters.

Yes, I think Mohsin's question is very important. It is not that easy to sell a website for high price unless you've got a good page ranks and traffic ranking. Can you advise how you sell your site? At what place and how to get it promoted to potential buyers?

It is possible but the better way is that you are using word press on your own host. It gives you more possiblities for customizations and other options.

I have finished round 1 through my book!

This time through it I'm just making sure that I get the formatting the same throughout the whole book. I'm a little ambitious, but I think I might be able to get through it again by tomorrow evening.

Unfortunately, the money's a little tight right now due to personal issues, so I'm going to do my best at creating a book cover on my own. I figure that if I look at enough books, I'll be able to figure out something that should work.

It's getting really close...

I will have my site built by next weekend, and will have several of the posts ready to go. I'm going to take note of everything that I do, as I do it, in order to help others who may want to do the same thing.

Yes, you can simply copy and paste it, or you can rewrite it, or spin it, or whatever you want. You don't have to acknowledge the author, but most people do out of respect for the time that the author put into the work.

Are you talking about Jack Duncan's WSO, where he includes a copyright records search software? That software is just an offline reproduction of the copyright records that you can access at copyright.gov or whatever the link is.

Oddvar, there is always the chance that in one way or the other content is out on a website. To have different content then anybody else - just rewrite the content or let it rewrite for instance at rentacoder.com or elance. For myself I find a lot of books in published the time frame of 1950-1960 that are in the public domain. It would surprise me if they are on a website as content.

Oh yeah, one of Kneb's bonuses was some software...

I hadn't actually used it yet, and forgot that it was included. I just tried to run it and got an error, so the one I got isn't functional and I can't tell you what it does.

I will have to try downloading it again and then post back here.

Also, too bad to anyone who didn't get Jack's WSO for the $7 back then. It was a steal!

**UPDATE** It looks like Kneb's still working on the software, but once it's ready I'm sure it'll be awesome.

Real Warrior case study I have finished round 1 through my book! This time through it I'm just making sure that I get the formatting the same throughout the whole book. I'm a little ambitious, but I think I might be able to get through it again by tomorrow evening. Unfortunately, the money's a little tight right now due to personal issues, so I'm going to do my best at creating a book cover on my own. I figure that if I look at enough books, I'll be able to figure out something that should work. It's getting really close... I will have my site built by next weekend, and will have several of the posts ready to go. I'm going to take note of everything that I do, as I do it, in order to help others who may want to do the same thing.

Real Warrior case study Oh yeah, one of Kneb's bonuses was some software... I hadn't actually used it yet, and forgot that it was included. I just tried to run it and got an error, so the one I got isn't functional and I can't tell you what it does. I will have to try downloading it again and then post back here. Also, too bad to anyone who didn't get Jack's WSO for the $7 back then. It was a steal! UPDATE It looks like Kneb's still working on the software, but once it's ready I'm sure it'll be awesome.
